~ HAPPY HOLIDAYS ~

. I recorded this video of my new composition on 12-25-09, as a gift for friends, family and others who appreciate my music. This rather dry blues may not be your typical holiday tune, but it meant to represent the desert journey that many individuals find themselves on, whether by choice or not, whether searching for the dayspring of enlightenment or simple sustenance. The treble slide fill to vibrato is camel talk. Another version has a slightly more elaborate middle section with a few more clippety clops (palm heel and thumb slaps) to symbolize the camels of three wise men traveling through the desert. Guitar: Lakewood M32 CP steel string. Recorded using the isight camera of a Macbook Pro.

I composed this Celtic Lullaby for my brother Ben's baby cradle business, Iron Mountain Wood. We have been working together n his website and it seemed like a very good idea for a video. The full version of this solo guitar lullaby is over three minutes long. It was quite fun putting this whole thing together.

Video Description:

Ben Francis Introduces His Unique Line Of Custom Baby Cradles By "Iron Mountain Wood." Ben is a master craftsman. He has built everything from log homes and conventional housing, to apartment buildings and shopping complexes. He is now retired as a building contractor, but his love of wood led him to refining the cradles that have become a long tradition in his family. Footage includes a brief, but personal look at his family, his shop and the materials that go into making these family heirlooms, which he now shares from his family to yours.
